Catherine Aspila, single a Licensed Philippine Teacher and a native of South Cotabato, a province of the Philippines located in Mindanao region and is famous for is landforms and bodies of water such as Lake Sebu, Mt. Rise from a farmer father and a housekeeper mother who doesnÂ’t have enough and couldnÂ’t afford to send her in college thus by her own she look for means on how to acquire a degree. She finds for a scholarship and fortunate to pass the exam, giving her a full scholarship. With her combined effort and determination, she successfully holds a degree and was able to lead her way to become a Licensed Teacher. Thereafter, she immediately seeks for employment and was hired as secondary school teacher and at the same time school clinic in-charge. As the salary offer is not sufficient for her family, she decided to work abroad as domestic helper. Due to her excellent credentials she was shortly selected by a Chinese employer, last 2001 to be an all-around maid/care giver to a 2-year old child and a 92-year-old elder whereby she was able to finished her full2-year contract. When she went back to the Philippines she upgrade herself by taking up a Caregiver course which after that she was opportune to care a cancer and stroke patient. When her mother got sick, she again makes up her mind to go back Singapore, as she wants to provide a constant monetary support for her family especially her parents who are now undergoing medication. Her desire to be of better help to her family prompted her to a decision to work outside Singapore seeing that this will offer a much better exploration for her skills and knowledge and better settlement as well.

2)Singapore(2001 – 2003/2008-present)Initially employed as an all-around maid/caregiver to a Singaporean family with  1 child aged 1 and 92-year old elder when she joined this household. Primarily she was employed to take care for the child but during her stay, she also covers household chores such as cleaning, gardening, ironing, washing, cooking, and caring for the 92-year old elder. She was able to finish her contract leaving a remarkable performance with the family. Then she came back last 2008 to serve another Singaporean family living in an apartment with 2 teenage children and a 75-year old elder. She is accountable to perform all house errands and cooking thus, she gained enough skills in Chinese and Western cooking and baking.

3)Philippines(2006 – 2007) Cared for a stroke and cancer patient elder  for a year whereby she is responsible to fed food and medicine on a timely basis, changed diapers, assisting in hygiene task, monitoring of vital signs and other bedside care.

4)Application for country outside Singapore: Canada, UK, Norway, Spain, Denmark, Australia Â…. and others.
