MARY JANE L. MANUEL, a 32-year-old married to a 31-year-old taxi driver and blessed to have 2 children ages 7 and 8 from Paniqui, Tarlac. She is second to the youngest child among her 4 siblings. Her 57-year-old father works as a carpenter in their hometown while her 57-year-old mother is a plain housekeeper. She finished her secondary education in Jorge M. Padilla High School year 1996 and afterwards she decided to take a secretarial course in Araullo University. She previously worked as a safety consultant and a service crew for 2 years in total and then she had her maid employment experience in Philippines and served a Filipino family living in a bungalow house and then she was selected to work in Qatar as a domestic helper and served an Arabian family living in a 2-storey residential house. Currently she is working as a cosmetic dealer in their neighborhood while waiting for her application in Singapore to be selected. 1) This applicant considers herself simple yet a hardworking person. She is also a fast learner and still willing to learn more. As an experienced housemaid, she is expected to be well-versed and proficient in doing household chores such as cleaning, washing clothes, dish washing, and ironing. She is also able to prepare and cook Filipino dishes and willing to learn more especially on foreign dishes. She has experience taking care of children and attending to their needs like preparing their food and clothes, sometimes playing with them, and reading story books. 2) Philippines (2000 – 2001) served a Filipino family living in a bungalow house with 5 children. She is responsible in doing daily household chores such as maintaining the cleanliness of the house, marketing, cooking Filipino dishes for the family. She is also liable in assisting and attending for the other needs of the family and paying attention for the 5 children as well. After serving the family for a year, she decided to try her luck in pursuing her application overseas. 3) Qatar (Feb – Nov 2010) served an Arabian family living in a 2-storey residential house. Same as her previous employer in the Philippines, she is accountable in doing general household chores such as cleaning, mopping of floors, dish washing, laundering and ironing of clothes, marketing, cooking and others as when she is instructed by her employer and other family member. 4) As she has working experience of more than 2 years overseas other than Singapore she only needs to take the English test in Philippines and the POEA processing in Philippines She can be deployed faster than new as she will not undergo the one week in house training in Philippines.
